This article investigates the relational dynamics in abusive relationships, focusing on how power and control are exercised and resisted. It discusses the complex interplay between abusers’ tactics and victims’ responses, emphasizing the psychological and emotional dimensions of abuse. The study uses qualitative interviews to illustrate the nuanced ways in which abuse manifests and affects victims’ sense of self and agency. It calls for a relational approach to interventions that considers the interdependent nature of abusive relationships.
