This study explores how both women and men understand and narrate their experiences of violence in intimate relationships. It highlights the differences in narratives, with men often justifying or minimizing their abusive behavior while women frequently describe the consequences and their strategies for coping. The research emphasizes the role of socio-cultural constructions of masculinity and femininity in shaping these narratives. The study calls for a more integrated approach to understanding and addressing intimate partner violence by considering both perspectives and the broader social context
